Vollständige Beschreibung

Begin with a short introduction to Bavaria and the origins of Schafkopf. Learn why the game is so important to Bavarian tradition, how it developed over centuries, where and when locals typically play, and the unwritten rules and etiquette around the table. Hear fun anecdotes about legendary games, competitive rivalries, and how Schafkopf culture differs from other card games around the world. Next, be introduced step by step to the fundamentals, including the 32-card Bavarian deck (Eichel, Gras, Herz, Schellen), card ranking and trump structure, the different game types (Sauspiel, Solo, Wenz, etc.), and basic terminology you’ll hear at every Bavarian card table. Everything is explained clearly and simply, in English, and at a relaxed pace. Questions are always welcome. Then, sit at authentic card tables in small groups (usually four players per table). A local guide moderates and explains each step while you play your first rounds. Be guided through how to “call” a game, strategy basics, when to play aggressively and when to hold back, and typical beginner mistakes (and how to avoid them). The goal is not just to understand the rules, but to actually feel confident playing by the end of the session.
