Learn Schafkopf the easy way
At first, Schafkopf can seem complicated.
Ober, Unter, trumps, Rufspiel, Solo — if you have never played before, the rules can be confusing.
That is exactly why we created this experience.
Your guide will explain the game in a simple and practical way, focusing only on what you actually need to start playing.
Instead of spending the whole session listening to rules, you will quickly get the cards into your own hands.
Within a short time, you will be playing your first rounds and discovering why Schafkopf has been one of Bavaria’s most popular card games for generations.
What to expect

Play on the Alte Utting
The location is almost as special as the game itself.
The Alte Utting is a former passenger ship that now sits on top of an old railway bridge in the middle of Munich.
It is one of the city’s most unusual venues and the perfect place to combine Bavarian tradition with modern Munich culture.
One crêpe included
Schafkopf is all about sitting together and enjoying the moment.
That is why every participant gets one crêpe during the experience.
Start playing quickly
This is not a two-hour lecture about card-game theory.
The goal is to get you playing as quickly as possible, while your guide helps you understand the game along the way.
How the Schafkopf lesson works

3. Play your first practice rounds
Then it is time to start playing.
Your guide will accompany your first rounds and answer questions directly at the table.
4. Play a real game of Schafkopf
Once you understand the basics, you will gradually start playing more independently.
Your guide will still be there to help with difficult situations and introduce some basic tactics.
5. Enjoy a crêpe and stay for longer
Every participant receives one crêpe during the experience.
After the lesson, you are welcome to stay on the Alte Utting, grab a drink and — if you want — keep playing.
